The Taxiway Lighting Project was started in July 2019 with an expected completion date of October 2020. This project upgraded all taxiway lights to LED fixtures along runway 18/36 as well as all associated connecting taxiways. The project was funded by an $886,635 grant from the Texas Department of Transportation and $98,515 from Airport funds.

The transition to LED lighting will save on electricity and maintenance costs.
