Fly Friendly Program
In order to continue to serve your aviation needs and be responsive to the concerns of our neighbors, the City has developed a voluntary noise control and safety program.
This program was developed with the participation of the Airport businesses, pilots, neighborhood representatives, the Aircraft Owners and Pilot’s Association (AOPA), Texas Department of Transportation, the Airport Advisory Board and the City of Georgetown. The purpose is to minimize the impact of aircraft operations on the surrounding neighborhoods without unduly restricting the use of the Airport.
The “Fly Friendly” program is modeled from work done by Aircraft Owners and Pilot’s Association. One of the many benefits of this program is to help ensure continued community support for the modern airport facilities to serve the future needs of recreation, businesses, and commercial aviation.
Your efforts to “Fly Friendly” are appreciated.

event: 0928 2011/09/27 Tue — dual-engine vintage heading to airport
Hello Georgetown Airport Tower,
Please request the clowns in the dark gray/green dual-engine vintage faux “warplane” to stop buzzing Cooper, Forbes, and Katy Crossing. 0928 event low enough to see rivets (but of course no visible “N” number to report to the FAA). Perhaps they need some new engines and can trade in their current rubberband motors which loudly struggle to keep the relic in the sky. No one here is impressed by the air drama, the noise, and their feeble attempts to steer the plane and keep it aloft. Any lower and they’ll hit chimneys, maybe top off a tree or two.Maybe they get a real job and join a flying circus, find a nice pasture or two to roar over, entertain a few bored cows , demonstrate their deep banking roll skills. Maybe they could be extras in a WWII movie or even some space movie, like in Hollywood, far away from here. I am just saying.
Sidenote: It’s bad enough that the endless small blue-white planes barely make it over the schools and neighborhood here, perhaps in belief that no one lives here (or is here during the day). There are all sorts of nice farmland corridors around here for the repeated fly-by- take-off-and-land learning struggles of the tiny plane and relic plane subcultures. No, seriously. I am just saying.
